Women's Tennis Rolls Past North Central

Eau Claire, Wis. (Blugolds.com) The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire women's tennis team rolls past North Central (Minn.) 9-0 on April 7. The Blugolds have won 8 straight dual matches and are now ranked 15th in the regional rankings.

In the doubles matches, the combinations of; Emily Cooper  (Whitebear, Minn.) and  Kylee Funk (Foley, Minn.)Sammy Johnson (Hudson, Wis.)  and Allison Bauer (Andover, Minn/ Coon Rapids) and Gabby Oswald (Watertown, Wis.) and Kennedy Rusk (Nisswa, Minn. /Brainerd)all took home decisive victories.

Cooper and Funk were victorious at number one doubles winning, 8-2. Johnson and Bauer defeated Swanson and Loop (NC)  8-1, while Oswald and Rusk won by default. 

The Blugolds continued their dominance to sweep through the singles matches as well. Playing in line one, Hanna Zevenbergen (Baldwin, Wis. /Baldwin-Woodville) won her match 6-1, 6-0. Molly Sanvik (Winona, Minn.), Oswald, and Funk  were dominant at the two, three and four lines, respectively. Rusk won in straight set 6-0, 6-0 at the five line, while Kendra Berry (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) won by default at the six slot. 

 

The Blugolds will compete at Duluth at the Longview Tennis Club at 8:00am on April 13.
