Marshall, TX (Blugolds.com)- The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire women's tennis team swept Centenary College 9-0, but dropped their second match of the day to East Texas Baptist 6-3.

In the Blugolds first match of the day, all three doubles teams doubles dominated their matches over Centenary College.  Natalie Wijesinghe (Apple Valley, Minn.) and partner Olivia Gallagher (Lodi, Wis.) won 8-0 at the number one doubles slot.  At number two doubles, Molly Stewart (Amery, Wis.) and Molly Sanvik (Winona, Minn.) also won by a score of 8-0.  Brooke Volpone (Monticello, Minn.) with partner Hannah Zevenbergen (Baldwin, Wis. / Baldwin-Woodville) finished the doubles sweep with a 8-0 win at number three doubles.

In singles action Stewart defeated Perilloux (CC) at the number on spot, winning 6-0, 6-0. Gallagher got a victory at the number two spot with scores of 6-1, 6-2, while Volpone won at the three spot. Zevenbergen dominated at the number four spot winning 6-0,6-0, while Jaide Barber (Plover,Wis.) earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the number five singles slot. Gabby Oswald (Watertown,Wis.) defeated Clausen (CC) 6-0,6-0 to give the Blugolds the compete sweep. 

In their second match of the day the Blugolds face a tough East Texas Baptist team. The Tigers on a  10 match win streak headed into their match with the Blugolds. The Blugolds dropped two of three doubles matches, with Volpone and Zevenbergen earning the only Blugold point with 8-3 win at number three doubles. Only two Blugolds picked up wins in singles action. Wijesinghe made a come back to defeat Bramlett (ETBAP) 2-6, 6-1, 6-2, and Gallagher was victorious at the number three spot. 

The Blugolds finish up their spring break trip on March 24 facing Austin (TX) at 5:30pm.
