Women's Tennis Announces 2015-2016 Team Awards

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire women's tennis head coach Tom Gillman recently announced the team award winners for the 2015-16 season.

Sarah Henderson (So. Prior Lake,Minn.) received the Player of the Year Award for the second year in a row. Henderson compiled an 20-9 overall record playing at number one singles. The sophomore also paired with Colleen McCullough at number one doulbes to earn an 18-8 record. 

Olivia Gallagher (Jr. Lodi,Wis.) was awarded the Team Player Award for the second straight year. Gallagher's overall record this season was 20-6. The junior was 9-4 playing at number two singles and was undefeated playing at number three and four singles. Gallagher paired with Paige Kuepers in doubles play, the duo was 19-8 playing at number two doulbes this season.  

Jillian Hultgren (Fr. Winona,Minn.) recieved the team's Most Improved Award. Hultgren was 2-1 in singles play this season. The Freshman paired with Kendra Berry in doubles play earning a 2-1 record. 

Colleen McCullough (Sr. Maple Grove,Minn/Osseo) earned the Blugold Award. McCullough's overall singles record was an impressive 20-5. The senior earned an 11-2 record at number three singles, and went 6-1 playing number two singles. McCullough paired with Henderson in double action this season, the pair compiled an 18-8 record playing at number one doulbes. 

Paige Kuepers (Sr. Green Bay,Wis./Southwest) was given the Coach's Award. Kuepers was 18-7 this season in singles play. The senior earned an 11-4 record at number four singles, and went 4-1 at number three singles this season. Kuepers and doubles partner Gallagher earned an 19-8 doubles record playing at the number two doubles slot. 

The Blugolds were 14-7 this season, with an impressive 8-3 home record. They started the season sweeping (9-0) the first four opponents they faced. The Blugolds 14 wins marks the tenth straight season the Blugolds have had double-digit dual meet victories.
