EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team dominated Wartburg on Saturday, winning 9-0.
In singles action, Maddie Johnson (Sr.-Lakeville, MN/South) defeated Katherine Ross 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 while Colleen McCullough (Jr.-Maple Grove, MN/Osseo) defeated Kayla Kuethe 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 at No. 2.
At No. 3 singles, Madison Rossebo (Sr.-Minnetonka, MN) downed Melissa Davis 6-2, 6-0 and Sarah Henderson (Fr.-Prior Lake, MN) defeated Marissa Buresh 6-4, 6-0 at No. 4.
Paige Kuepers (Jr.-Green Bay, WI/Southwest) and Olivia Gallagher (So.-Lodi, WI) finished the singles sweep, winning by scores of 6-1, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-0, respectively.
The doubles team of Johnson and Rossebo won by a score of 8-2 while McCullough and Henderson won 8-1. Renee Nelson (Sr.-Madison, WI/La Follette) and Kueper also victorious, winning 8-3.
The Blugolds' next match will be on the road as they travel take on Luther College (IA) on April 10.
