Women's Swim/Dive NCAA Championships: Day 4 Recap

SHENANDOAH, Tex. (blugolds.com) - Saturday marked the end to the 2016-17 women's swimming and diving season for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The four women who qualified for this year's NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships competed on the final day.

In the 200-yard breaststroke preliminaries, Samantha Senczyszyn (So.-Grafton, WI) earned the top seed with a time of 2:14.17. However, she later scratched from the finals due to an injury, marking the end of another record-breaking season for the sophomore. Sara Hagen (Fr.-McFarland, WI) also competed in the 200-yard breaststroke prelims, earning a 26th place finish with her time of 2:23.49.

The pairing raced in the 400-yard freestyle relay alongside Jessica Short (So.-Grafton, WI) and Brittany Farr (So.-Madison, WI/James Madison Memorial), which finished 21st in the preliminaries. They had a time of 3:35.25.

Short took 38th in the 200-yard backstroke preliminaries as well with a time of 2:08.50.

The team finished 26th in the final standings with 30 total points on the weekend.
