Women's Swim/Dive NCAA Championships: Day 2 Recap

SHENANDOAH, Tex. (blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's swimming team competed in two relays in Thursday's competition at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships.

Prelims Results | Finals Results

The team of Jessica Short (So.-Grafton, WI), Samantha Senczyszyn (So.-Grafton, WI), Brittany Farr (So.-Madison, WI/James Madison Memorial), and Sara Hagen (Fr.-McFarland,WI) competed in both the 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard medley relays on Thursday. They finished in 24th place in the 200-free with a time of 1:37.73 in the preliminaries. This finished in last place and did not qualify for the finals.

In the 400-yard medley relay, their prelim time of 3:49.98 qualified for the consolation finals. During the consolation finals, Short, Senczyszyn, Farr, and Hagen combined for a time of 3:49.54 to place fifth in the race and 13th overall.

The women dropped just one place in the overall team standings to 34th after day two of the competition, as they now have ten team points. They will be back in the pool tomorrow for day three, highlighted by Senczyszyn looking to defend her 100-yard breaststroke national title.
