Samantha Senczyszyn (So.-Grafton, WI) posted a time of 23.48 in the 50-yard freestyle preliminaries to earn a 13th place finish. This qualified her for the consolation finals in which her 23.68 time finished 15th overall in the event.

Senczyszyn also took part in the 200-yard medley relay. Her teammates, Jessica Short (So.-Grafton, WI), Sara Hagen (Fr.-McFarland, WI), and Brittany Farr (So.-Madison, WI/James Madison Memorial) placed 20th in the prelims with a time of 1:46.15. The time failed to be quick enough to reach the finals with the top-16 times advancing.

Short competed in the 200-yard individual medley as well. She tied for 27th place in the prelims with a time of 2:07.21, failing to qualify for the finals.

The Blugold women currently sit in 33rd place as a team with two points after day one's competition.
