Women's Swim & Dive finishes second at UWSP Invite

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's swimming and diving team had a strong finish at the UW-Stevens Point Invite, placing second behind Division II Minnesota State-Mankato.

Results

The Blugolds finished the two-day invite with 943 points, beating host UW-Stevens Point (642) and falling to Mankato (1405).

The 200-yard medley relay team of Jessica Short, Samantha Senczyszyn, Sara Hagen and Carli Olson took second with a time of 1:49.39. The same team took second in the 400-yard freestyle as well, finishing with a time of 3:38.44.

Olson won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.12 while Brittany Far was third, clocking in at 2:05.60.

Senczyszyn won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.27 while Sara Hagen finished third in the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard breaststroke, recording times of 1:09.90 and 1:09.47, respectively.

Short was second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:11.79 while Lilith Lengvenis was third at 2:17.78.

The Blugolds will be back in action Friday as they travel to St. Paul to take on the University of St. Thomas.
