Blugold Women in fourth at Rochester Invite

ROCHESTER, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's swimming and diving team is in fourth place after session two of the Rochester Invitational.

The Blugolds earned 569.50 points while St. Cloud State leads the field with 1,178.58. While in fourth place, Eau Claire leads all NCAA Division III teams.

Samantha Senczyszyn won the 50-yard freestyle (23.24) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.11) to lead the Blugolds.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Jessica Short, Senczyszyn, Elissa Hermsen and Carli Olson tied for second in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:46.24 while the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Senczyszyn, Short, Brittany Farr and Olson was fifth (1:36.99).

Hermsen was fourth in the 200-yard butterfly (2:10.92) while in the 200-yard freestyle, Olson tied for seventh (1:56.32). Short took third in the 100-yard IM (1:00.14) and was tenth in the 100-yard backstroke (58.64).

The Blugolds will compete in the third and final session on Sunday.
