Senczyszyn makes history at Rochester Invite

ROCHESTER, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – History was made Friday at the first session of the Rochester Invitational as Samantha Senczyszyn became the first female in Blugold history to break the one-minute barrier in the 100 breaststroke of the 400-meter medley relay.

Session 1 Results

The sophomore clocked in at 59.93 as the relay team of Jessica Short, Senczyszyn, Amanda Wiedorff and Carli Olson finished third with an overall time of 3:51.57.

Other top finishers in the six events on day one was Sari Mailey who was 18th in the preliminary round of the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:20.01 and the 800-yard freestyle relay team of Anna Theisen, Mailey, Short and Olson were eighth with a time of 7:56.81.

The Blugolds will swim in session two on Saturday and finish the invitational on Sunday.
