Women's Swim and Dive defeats Titans

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's swimming and diving team hosted UW-Oshkosh on Saturday, defeating the Titans 148-116.

Results

Jessica Short and Carli Olson both won two events for the Blugolds. Short won the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.49) and 100-yard freestyle (55.59) while Olson won the 50-yard freestyle (26.31) and 500-yard freestyle (5:31.29).

Sam Senczyszyn won the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.20) while Anna Theisen turned in a winning time in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:31.21.

Camille Madsen took first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:12.57 and Elissa Hermsen won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:21.70.

The Blugold 200-yard medley team of Amanda Wiedorff, Senczyszyn, Molly Quinlan, and Olson also took top honors with a time of 1:52.54.

"We had great swims today after two really tough weeks of practice," said Head Coach Annie Ryder. "They swam with a lot of energy and really supported each other as a team. It was great to get some racing in before our big invite in December. We had a lot of really great times and swims across the board."

Next up for the Blugolds is the Rochester Invite on Dec. 2-4.
