"The women swam really tough after a long winter training trip," said Head Coach Annie Ryder. "The meet came down to the last two events; we out-touched the UW-Whitewater 400 free relay buy just a few one hundredths and it was a really exciting relay to watch. This was a huge win for our women."

The final winning relay consisted of Elissa Hermsen (Jr.-Waunakee, WI), Ellie Hostetler (Sr.-St. Paul, MN/Convent of the Visitation), Maddie Gray (Sr.-Roseville, MN) and Jessica Short.

Eau Claire also began the meet with a relay win. Gray, Samantha Senczyszyn (Fr.-Grafton, WI), Rachel Treadway (Sr.-Cottage Grove, MN/East Ridge) and Allie Hable (Sr.-Ankeny, IA) won in the 200-yard medley relay, clocking in at 1:50.07.

Senczyszyn turned in another top-notch performance, winning the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.34), 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.18) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:22.18).

Short was also impressive for the Blugolds, winning the 100-yard backstroke  (59.58), the 200-yard backstroke (2:09.88) and 200-yard IM (2:11.63).

Other first place finishers were Hermsen in the 200-yard butterfly (2:14.68) and Hable who tied for first in the 50-yard freestyle (25.02)

After a diver's only meet in Minnesota next weekend, the full squad will be back in action for the WIAC Championships Feb. 18-20 in Brown Deer, Wis.
