Women's Swim & Dive 3rd at UWSP Invite

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's swimming and diving team competed at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday, finishing third with 788 points.

Results

University of St. Thomas won the meet with a score of 952 while Minnesota State-Mankato was second and UW-Stevens Point fourth.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of  Maddie Gray (Sr.-Roseville, MN), Samantha Senczyszyn (Fr.-Grafton, WI),  Allie Hable (Sr.-Ankeny, IA) and Jessica Short won the event with a time of 1:39.17.

Short, Senczyszyn, Hable and Hannah Sisto (Fr.-Neenah, WI) were also second in the 400-yard medley with a time of 4:02.09. Short, Senczyszyn, and Hable then teamed up with Rachel Treadway (Sr.-Cottage Grove, MN/East Ridge) to take second in the 200-yard medley, clocking in at 1:49.17.

Senczyszyn continued her winning ways in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard IM, winning both events with times of 1:05.52 and 2:09.21, respectively. She was also second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.04.

Short was also a top finisher for the Blugolds in the 200-yard IM, finishing second to Senczyszyn with a time of 2:12.84.

Sisto and Elissa Hermsen (Jr.-Waunakee, WI) took second and third in the 200-yard butterfly, recording times of 2:15.47 and 2:18.37, respectively.

Hable and Treadway were third in the 50-yard freestyle (25.13) and 400-yard IM (4:50.09) for Eau Claire.

In diving, Kate French (Sr.-Hartland, WI/Arrowhead) had a great day for the Blugolds, winning both the 1- and 3-meter dives, willing by scores of 383.15 and 405.90, respectively.

The Blugolds will travel to Whitewater next Saturday to compete against the Warhawks.
