More School Records Crushed in Day 2 of Rochester Invite

The University of Wisconsin men's and women's swim and dive teams concluded the Rochester invite Saturday night, with Samantha Senczyszyn setting another school record in the 100 meter breaststroke, finishing with a time of 1:01.68 , achieving a NCAA A cut, with her time automatically qualifying her for NCAA Nationals.

Results

The 200 medley team of Maddie Gray (Sr.-Roseville, MN), Samantha Senczyszyn (Fr.-Grafton, WI), Rachel Treadway (Sr.-Cottage Grove, MN/East Ridge) and Allie Hable (Sr.-Ankeny, IA) broke another school record, with a time of 1:45.68, faster than their previous time from last year's invite, and achieving a NCAA B cut.

Senczyszyn continued to dominate the pool, topping a 24-swimmer field in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:27.99.

Hable finished 3rd in the 50 yard freestyle, coming in with a time of 24.03.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Hable, Gray, Ellie Hostetler (Sr.-St. Paul, MN/Convent of the Visitation), and Senczyszyn finished second with a time of 1:36.52.

In men's swimming, Ben Fisher (Roselle, IL/Lake Park) placed 3rd in the men's 100-yard breaststroke, with a time of 58.79.

Ryan Young (Jr.-Lakeville, MN/North) took the 3rd spot in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:55.36.

Women's dive featured a 7th place finish against tough competition by Kate French (Sr.-Hartland, WI/Arrowhead), with a score of 408.95 in the 1 meter dives.

The women's team placed 4th out of 10 teams this weekend, finishing with a combined score of 614.

The men's placed 3rd out of six, with a combined score of 394.5.

The men's and women's swim and dive teams have a long break after this weekend's invitational, starting back up after winter break on January 22 at the Stevens Point Invitational.
