MANKATO, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's swimming and diving team kicked off the 2014-15 season competing at NCAA Division II Minnesota State here today at Highland Pool.
Overall the Blugolds won 4 different individual events. Eau Claire finished the day with 11 second and third-place finishes.
Amanda Baker (Jr.-Hudson, WI) earned first place in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events with scored of 234.15 and 245.55 points respectively. Elissa Hermsen (So.-Waunakee, WI) also won two events winning the 50-meter butterfly in 27.53 seconds and the 100-meter butterfly in a time of 1:00.39.
The Blugolds return to the McPhee Physical Education Center for action next Friday and Saturday, October 24-25. On Friday the Blugolds will host a diving meet with UW-Stevens Point and St. Cloud State while the same schools will compete in a swim meet on Saturday.
