
ROCHESTER, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's swimming & diving team competed Saturday and Sunday at the Rochester Invitational, hosted by St. Cloud State University (Minn.).
The Blugolds secured six top-eight finishes with the divers leading the way.
Amanda Baker (So-Hudson, Wis.) and Sara Axness (So.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) came in third place in the three and one-meter dives, respectively. Baker scored 386.25 points while Axness finished with 392.45 points.
Picking up sixth place finishes were Lisa Reed (Jr.-Duluth, Minn./East) in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:07.24 and Baker in the one-meter dive with 365.65 points.
Allison Hable (So.-Ankeny, Iowa) took seventh place with a time of 24.94 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle.
In eighth place in the three-meter dive was Kate French (So.-Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) with 358.90 points.
The Blugolds will now be off nearly a month for the holiday break. Over winter break, the Blugolds will face Willamette & Whitworth in a relay at Coronado Island, Calif. on Jan. 4. They will get back to regular competitions Jan. 17 at the UW-Stevens Point Invite.
