Sveiven's Nine Saves Not Enough in Road Loss

LA CROSSE, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team was back in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play as they traveled to UW-LA Crosse to face the Eagles. A span of ten minutes of gameplay included all the goals on the night as the Blugolds fell to UWL, 0-3.

The Blugold offense took turns with their chances as four different players had two or more shots. Kori Millis (Fr. – Shakopee, MN) and Maddie Ames (Sr. – Shakopee, MN) were the only UWEC players to tally shots on goal during the 90-minutes of play.

The conference matchup was physical from the beginning as both teams combined for 23 fouls during the contest.

Anna Sveiven (Sr. – Blaine, MN/Centennial) saved 9 of the 12 shots she faced and now holds a record of 1-4-1 on the season.

The Blugolds will be back to WIAC competition on Wednesday, October 13th, as they host UW-Stout. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM at Simpson Field.
