Eau Claire fell behind to the Falcons in the 25th minute, and despite three shots on goal in the first half, they couldn't tie things up by halftime.

The Blugolds would still find a way to respond in the 49th minute, as Emma Stange (So.-Andover, MN/Anoka) knocked in a goal off the assist from Tessa Grywalsky (Jr.-Madison, WI/Middleton). The goal was Stange's third of the 2019 season.

Unfortunately, River Falls quickly broke the tie, scoring a goal within a minute. Eau Claire had chances to even up the game, with six shots on goal over the next forty minutes. Shots by Grywalsky and Hannah Schaetzel (Jr.-Germantown, WI) in the 85th & 86 minutes just missed, sealing the close loss.

The Blugold defense played well down the stretch, with just two shots on goal after the second goal. Goalkeeper Anna Sveiven (Jr.-Blaine, MN/Centennial) added three saves.

Eau Claire will now have to wait to see if they receive an at large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The selection show will air on Monday, November 11th at 12 PM on NCAA.com. The Blugolds are 14-6 overall and 5-3 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The 14 victories are the most the Blugolds have had in a single season since the 2008-09 season.
