Blugolds earn WIAC soccer honors

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The 2018 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Soccer Team has been announced by the conference office, with Emily Sullivan (Jr. – Medina, MN/Wayzata), Sammy Lefaive (Sr. – Coon Rapids, MN) and Monica Zoellner (Sr. – East Troy, WI)  earning All-WIAC First Team honors.

Sullivan earned First Team honors for the second-straight season and led the Blugolds with 11 goals including five game-winners, also a team-high. Lefaive also made her second appearance on the First Team after being named to the team in 2016. The senior goalkeeper recorded 82 saves with a save percentage of .788 while finishing with a 9-7-2 record.

Zoellner was third on the team in goals (5) and assists (3) to earn First Team honors in her final season in the Blugold uniform.

In addition, Anna Larson (So. – Lakeville, MN/North) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

The Blugolds wrapped up the season with an overall record 9-8-2 and WIAC record of 5-2-1.
