Soccer falls to Pioneers, 2-0

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team traveled to UW-Platteville on Saturday and fell to the Pioneers by a score of 2-0.

Pioneer Caelyn Steffens scored both goals in the first half, one at 17:25 and the other at 31.19.

Eau Claire outshot Platteville 17-3 with Emily Sullivan (Jr. – Medina, MN) leading the Blugolds with six shots while Kayla Jedrzejewski (Fr. – New Berlin, WI/Eisenhower) added three. The Blugolds also had five corner kicks to the Pioneers' three.

Sammy Lefaive (Sr. – Coon Rapids, MN) took the loss in goal, giving up one goal and tallying one save in 22:18 minutes. Anna Sveiven (So. – Blaine, MN) finished the game, giving up one goal in 67:42.
