Soccer falls to Eagles, 3-1

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire soccer team hosted UW-La Crosse on Saturday, falling to the Eagles by a score of 3-1.

All four goals were scored in the first 32 minutes of the game and the Eagles got on the board only two minutes in. La Crosse would score again in the 17th and 20th minutes to take an early 3-0 lead.

The Blugolds would answer 11 minutes later as Natalie Clark (Sr. – Fredonia, WI/Ozaukee) would score an unassisted goal in the 31st minute.

It was a defensive battle the rest of the way as the Eagles would earn the 3-1 win. La Crosse outshot Eau Claire 20-5 while Anna Sveiven (Fr.— Blaine, MN/Blaine took the loss in goal, recording eight saves.

The Blugolds (4-8-1, 1-3 WIAC) will be at home again Wednesday as they host the University of St. Thomas at 4 p.m. Catch all the action on Blugold Game Day.
