Soccer falls to Pointers, 2-1

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire women's soccer team took to the road Wednesday for a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) match-up with UW-Stevens Point, falling to the Pointers, 2-1.

The first half was full of action, as Stevens Point would start it off when Maddy Hardyman scored her sixth goal of the season with a shot from a corner kick. The Blugolds, however, would strike back in the 36th minute. Natalie Clark (Sr.-Fredonia, WI/Ozaukee) would score her first goal of her career after a cross into the box by Hannah Schaetzel (Fr.-Germantown, WI).

Just five minutes later, the Pointers would jump back on top after a breakaway goal from Kassidy Spees. Eau Claire would have no answer as the Pointers would take the win. Both teams would tally seven shots on goal each and would combine for 17 total fouls.
