Soccer falls to Titans, 1-0

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – On a beautiful fall day at Bollinger Field, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire soccer team hosted the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, falling to the Titans, 1-0.

Defense ruled the day as the two teams battled in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) match-up. After one half of play, the score remained knotted at zero with the Blugolds out-shooting the Titans 8-4.

The Titan offense came to life in the second half, however, as they out-shot the Eau Claire 9-2 and were able to find the back of the net off the foot of Alek Kleis in the 72nd minute.

Sammie Lefaive (Jr. – Coon Rapids, WI) recorded seven saves in the loss as the Blugolds fall to 6-8-2 on the season and 3-2-1 in the WIAC.

Eau Claire will wrap up the regular season at home on Saturday, Oct. 29th against UW-Stout. Game time is slated for 2 p.m.
