Henderson nets game-winner, Blugolds defeat No. 24 Eagles

LA CROSSE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Caroline Henderson (Sr. – Duluth, MN/East) scored the game-winner as the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team handed No. 24-ranked UW-La Crosse their first conference loss of the season Friday night.

Henderson's unassisted goal was her sixth of the season and broke the 0-0 tie at the 60:24 mark. The win brings the Blugolds and Eagles into a tie for second place in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) standings with 3-1 records.

La Crosse out-shot Eau Claire 23-5 and had six corner kicks to the Blugolds' one. Goalie Sammie Lefaive (Jr. – Coon Rapids, WI) tallied 12 saves in the win.

The Blugolds (6-6-1, 3-1 WIAC) will be back in action Sunday as they travel to the Twin Cities where they will play St. Thomas at 3 p.m.
