Another year and the Blugolds were handed another tough semi-final loss to a talented Titan squad. In the match, it didn't take long before the Titans had a 1-0 lead. Eau Claire lost their previous match this season to Oshkosh 3-0, but the Blugolds brought it all in this one. They would not go down with out a fight. They were awarded two corner kicks in the first half, while holding the Titans to zero. They also fired four shots on goal, but it was not enough as Oshkosh continued to prevail.

In the second half, goalie Sammie Lefaive (So. -Coon Rapids, MN) kept the Blugolds in it, saving five shots to give her a total of nine saves on the day. Eau Claire seniors Tara Dennehy (Sr.-Eugene, OR/Churchill) and Ashley Seymour (Sr.-Verona, WI/Verona Area) gave every last bit of effort in this one leading the team with a combined total of six shots, with both recording two shots on goal each.

This will end the season for the Blugolds with a 6-10-3 record overall. The Titans will move on to play in the WIAC championship where they will take on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater after they won a thriller in double overtime 1-0 against University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The championship game is set for Saturday, November 7th at 2:00 pm.
