LAKELAND, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire wrestling team started the New Year in winning fashion, going 3-0 at the Muskie Duals hosted by Lakeland College.
The Blugolds started the day with a 30-9 win over Saint John's and followed with a dominating win over Lakeland by a score of 45-3. In the third round against Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE), the Blugolds tallied win number three by a score of 38-12.
Several Blugolds were 3-0 on the day to lead Eau Claire: Zackary Sirny (Jr.-Wild Rose, WI) at 125 pounds, Nathaniel Behnke (Sr.- Bruce, WI) at 141, Roy Munroe (Sr.- Cadott, WI) at 149, and Jeremy Amundson (Jr.-Oseola, WI) at 184.
The Blugolds will be back in action Saturday at the Will Abele Open, hosted by Ursinus College in Philadelphia.
