N. Behnke Earns 100th Career Win at Candlewood Suites Duals

LA CROSSE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire wrestler Nathaniel Behnke (Sr.- Bruce, WI) tallied his 100th career win at the Candlewood Suites Duals on Saturday.

In round one against Concordia College (Minn.), Behnke hit career win no. 100 with a 6-4 decision over Adam Presler. Also getting a win was Justin Karkula (Jr.- Oshkosh, WI/West) over Tyler Hoffman with a 4-3 decision. However, those would be the only two victories for the Blugolds as they fell by a score of 35-6. 

In round two against No. 10 Augsburg College, Behnke recorded the only victory, winning by major decision over Aaron Wilson, 18-4, as the Blugolds lost by a score of 43-4.

In the final round, Eau Claire fell just short against Southwest Minnesota State, 23-18.

Behnke earned his third win on the day with a decision over Justin Haneke (7-4). Zackary Sirny (Jr.-Wild Rose, WI) won by decision over Taylor Curtis at 125 pounds (6-0) while Scott Worlund (Jr.-Pittsville, WI) defeated Antonio Meikel 10-8 at 133.

At 157 pounds, Roy Munroe (Sr.-Cadott, WI) defeated Patrick Kelley (4-2) and Ryan Behnke (Jr.-Bruce, WI) earned the last Blugold victory with a win by fall (4:19) over Jake Slocum it 165.

The Blugolds are back in action Friday, December 11 as they host UW-La Crosse.
