Blugold Wrestlers go 1-2 at UWW Border Brawl Duals

WHITEWATER, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire wrestling team dropped two duals to start the day at the UW-Whitewater Border Brawl Duals, but finished the day with a win, the Blugolds' second dual meet victory of the season.

Results

Eau Claire opened the day with a 30-17 loss to Concordia University (Wis.), then fell 33-13 to North Central (Ill.) before defeating Manchester (Ind.) 27-18 to close the day.

Three Blugolds finished the day with 3-0 records.

At 141 pounds, Nathaniel Behnke (So.-Bruce, Wis.) started the day with a 12-3 major decision win and followed with a 14-0 victory before ending the day with a 13-0 win.

Ryan Seidler (Sr.-Adams, Wis./Adams-Friendship), competing at 149 pounds, opened the day with a forfeit win then pulled off a 3-1 in his next match. He finished the day with a 15-0 victory.

At 184 pounds, Luke Ortscheid (Sr.-Wausau, Wis./West) began the day with a 10-2 victory and followed with a 9-4 win. He then pinned his final opponent of the day in 1:46.

Next Friday and Saturday the Blugolds will compete at the Pete Willson Invitational, hosted by Wheaton College (Ill.).
