MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – Two UW-Eau Claire wrestlers finished in the top six as the Blugolds competed at the Auggie-Brute Open, hosted by Augsburg College (Minn.) at Si Melby Hall today.
In the gold 184 pound bracket, Josh Cormican (Fr.-Boyceville, Wis.) took fourth place. He finished with a 1-2 record on the day.
Luke Ortscheid (Sr.-Wausau, Wis./West) took sixth in the 197 pound gold bracket. He went 2-2 for the day.
At 141 pounds in the gold bracket, Nathaniel Behnke (So.-Bruce, Wis.) was the consolation champion. He opened the day with a loss but then won three straight to claim the consolation title.
The Blugolds will have next weekend off and will be in action again Dec. 5 when they travel to UW-Platteville to face the Pioneers in a WIAC dual beginning at 7 p.m.
