
MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's lacrosse team picked up their second win in as many games on Friday, defeating Edgewood College 19-11.
Newcomer Becky Goetsch (Fr. – Maple Grove, MN) had a dominating afternoon, recording eight goals and three assists for the Blugolds.
The game was close at the start with the score tied at 4 after the first quarter but led by Goetsch's four goals in the second, Eau Claire would take a 13-6 lead into halftime.
Eau Claire would control the game the rest of the way, cruising to a 19-11 victory.
Samantha Burns (Fr. – Mahtomedi, MN) would tally three goals for Eau Claire with Alexie Romanelli (Fr. – Naperville, IL), Lydia Wickersham (Fr. – Janesville, WI) and Riley Domagala (So. – Bloomington, MN/Jefferson) each adding two goals apiece.
Alexandria Shea (Fr. – Kenosha, WI) would earn the win in goal, recording 10 saves for her second win of the season.
The Blugolds (2-0) will continue their weekend road trip with games against Illinois Tech on Saturday and Sunday at 9 and 10 a.m., respectively.
