Women's Hockey shuts out Royals, 3-0

Eau Claire, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's hockey team continued nonconference play Friday as they traveled to Minnesota to take on the Bethel University Royals. With another multi-point game, Bree Osborne (Jr. – West St. Paul, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall) and the Blugolds gained another road win and their third straight win of the season.

Osborne started the Blugolds off strong in the first period scoring on the power-play just 13 minutes into the game. This would be the Eau Claire's fifth power-play goal of the year. Osborne wasn't done there as she tallied her second of the game just 7 minutes into the second period to extend the Blugold lead to two.

Following suit, Morgan Zirbel (Jr. – Green Bay, WI/Ashwaubenon) would score on another Blugold power-play to put Eau Claire up by three to seal the game late in the second period.

Goaltender Megan Jung (Fr. – Elk River, MN) stopped all 27 shots she faced in her first start as a Blugold and earned her first win as well.

The Blugolds are back in action on Saturday, November 9th when they take on Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) at 2 PM.
