EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire women's hockey team concluded their two-game series against Lake Forest College on Saturday afternoon. Despite the first game requiring an extra period of play, the Blugolds would roll over the Foresters 7-0.

Box Score

Eau Claire would have 11 different skaters get on the score including point leaders Elizabeth Bauer (So. – Wausau, WI/East) with three assists and Courtney Wittig (Jr. – Green Bay, WI/Bay Port) with a goal and an assist of her own.

The powerplay has been a significant area of concern for Eau Claire. They would capitalize on each of the powerplays, but only improve to 17 percent for the season. That is a dramatic drop from last year, where they ended the season in the 25 percent range. Holly Turnbull (Jr. – Hayward, WI) has been a key player playing the point role on the powerplay unit and she would score both her goals on the player advantage.

Once again, the Blugolds would out-shoot their opponents, 45-14, to add to the commanding win. Erin Connolly (Mequon, WI/Homestead) would receive her 9th win of the year and her fifth shutout of the season stopping all 14 Forester shots.

The Blugolds will get a short weekend, as they return home to Hobbs Ice Center to take on No. 4 ranked Adrian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Follow all the action live at blugolds.com/gameday.
