Walz scores twice as Blugolds defeat St. Catherine

ST. PAUL, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's hockey team picked up their seventh win of the season Friday night, defeating St. Catherine University by a score of 2-0.

Jaedyn Walz (Sr. – Woodbury, MN/East Ridge) scored both goals for UW-Eau Claire, both coming in the second period. The senior lit the lap at the 2:38 mark with assists from Kelly Knetter (Jr. – Wausau, WI/West) and Maggie Koethe (Jr. – Brooklyn Park, MN/Maranatha Christian Academy). Walz added to her tally less than five minutes later, this time getting assists from Mariah Czech (Sr. – Andover, MN) and Knetter.

The Blugolds out-shot the Wildcats 30-16 while goaltender Erin Connolly (So. – Mequon, WI/Homestead) improves to 6-2-2 with the win, tallying 16 saves.
