Women's Hockey Falls to Falcons, 3-1

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's hockey team lost Saturday 3-1 against the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

UW-River Falls was first on the board after just three minutes into the game. The UW-Eau Claire defense held strong for the rest of the period, as River Falls fired a total of 14 shots but did not score.

Eau Claire attacked to start the second period, surpassing River Falls in faceoff wins and attempting more shots on goal.

However, Falcon Carly Moran found the back of net with one second left in the period, pulling River Falls ahead 2-0 at the end of the second.

Paige Dale (Jr.-Andover, MN) came back to the third period on fire, scoring her fifth goal of the season at 7:07 to put the Blugolds on the board. River Falls came back with another goal with just minutes left in the game and seal the win.

Goalie Kim Van Brunt (Sr.-Eagle River, WI/Northland Pines) made her second appearance in goal and had a total of 30 saves during the game.

UW-Eau Claire (3-3-2, 1-2-1) has their next game at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night against Minnesota's Hamline University (2-2-2, 2-0-1).
