RIVER FALLS, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – For the second time in as many nights, the UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team was unable to score any goals against UW-River Falls and the Falcons went on to win 6-0 in River Falls tonight.
Last night in Eau Claire, the Blugolds suffered a 2-0 loss to the Falcons.
In tonight's game, the Blugolds got very little offense going as River Falls outshot them 44-12. The Falcons scored goals in all three periods, two on power-plays and four even-strength.
Paige Turner (So.-Iron River, Wis./Duluth East) played 52:51 in goal and stopped 28 out of 33 shots while Kim Van Brunt (So.-Eagle River, Wis./Northland Pines) finished the game and stopped 10 out of 11 shots.
Eau Claire completed the game 0-for-4 on power-plays while River Falls went 2-for-5.
The Blugolds fall to 1-5-2 on the season and 0-3-1 in the WIAC while the Falcons improve to 4-3-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the conference.
Next weekend, the Blugolds will be off for Thanksgiving. They will play against UW-Stevens Point on Dec. 6 and 7, Friday in Stevens Point and Saturday in Eau Claire.
