Gymnastics falls to Cyclones

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team traveled to Louisiana on Saturday to take on Centenary University, falling to Cyclones by a score of 188.100 to 185.725.

Results

The Blugolds won the vault with a 47.150, led by Ashley Benes' (So.- Grand Rapids, MN) 9.575, which not only won the event but is the 6th best score in school history. Victoria Perron (So. – Inver Grove Heights, MN/Simley) also set a new personal best with a 9.475 which put her in third.

Hannah Lewis (Sr. – Saline, MI) tied for first on the uneven parallel bars with a 9.625 – tallying the third best score in school history. Megan Fayler (Jr. - Afton, MN/Stillwater) was also second with a 9.500, recording the eighth best score in school history.

On the balance beam, Jordan Ehde (Jr. – Stillwater, MN) tied for first with a 9.600 and set a new personal best while Amelia Moorehouse (Sr. – Gregory, MI/FlexTech) was the top Blugold on the floor exercise, scoring a 9.475 for a fifth place finish.
