Blugolds finish strong at NCGA Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Blugolds.com) – In the final day of the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championships, two Blugolds earned All-American honors while four earned academic honors.

Results

After earning All-American honors Friday in the All-Around, Tori Erickson (Sr. – Woodbury, MN) placed seventh on the vault with a 9.675, tying the school record and earning All-American honors yet again. The senior also tied for ninth on the floor exercise (9.775) and tied for 10th on the balance beam (9.650).

Hannah Lewis (Jr. – Saline, MI) was also named an All-American after she tied for fifth on the uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.750, setting a new Blugold record for the second time this season. Lewis broke the record the first time on Feb. 15 with a 9.650.  

Ashley Benes (Fr. – Grand Rapids, MN) tied for 17th with a 9.000 on the vault while Megan Fayler (So. - Afton, MN/Stillwater) was 20th with an 8.800 on the uneven parallel bars.

In addition, Erickson, Destiny Cobbs (Sr. - Minnetonka, MN), Becca Wilcox (Sr. – Roseville, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall) and Maly Krajco (Richland Center, WI) were named to the Academic All-American team.
