Erickson has career night at Seattle Invite

SEATTLE (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team traveled to the West Coast for the Seattle Invite on Friday night, with the Blugolds finishing in third place.

Results

Lindenwood won the meet with a score of 193.875 while host Seattle Pacific was second (190.725) and the Blugolds third (184.900).

Tori Erickson (Sr. – Woodbury, MN) had a career night, winning the all-around with a score of 38.400, not only setting a new career-high but also a new school record.  The senior scored a 9.625 (ninth place) on the vault, tying her career-high set on Jan. 8, which is also tied for third all-time in program history. Erickson also was the highest Eau Claire finisher and set a season-high on beam (9.675, tied for 4th) and the floor exercise (9.750, tied for 4th), which is also the fourth highest score in school history. Erickson tied with Lauralynn Anderson (Jr. – West Bend, WI/homeschool) on bars with a 9.350, putting them in a tie for tenth place.

Hannah Lewis (Jr. – Saline, MI) scored a season and career-high on the floor exercise (9.300) while Anderson's 9.425 on the beam tied a season-high.

Sydney Dame (Fr. – Clinton Township, MI) recorded a season and career-high on the floor exercise while Ashley Benes (Fr. – Grand Rapids, MN) and Andrea Gessner (Fr. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) did the same on the vault (9.400 and 9.425, respectively).
