Gymnastics falls to Warriors

WINONA, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's gymnastics team took on Winona State University Friday night, falling to the Warriors by a score of 188.400 to 184.475.

Results

Megan Fayler (Fr. – Afton, MN/Stillwater) won the uneven parallel bars with a personal best of 9.650 while Lauren Zurowski Sr. – Greenfield, WI/Whitnall) and Bailey Peter (Jr. – Wausau, WI/D.C. Everest) set season-highs to finish fourth and fifth with scores of 9.550 and 9.525, respectively.  Lauralynn Anderson (So. – West Bend, WI/home school) also earned a personal best on the bars with a 9.375 to finish eighth.

Zurowski tied Winona's Eboni Jackson for the top spot on the floor exercise, scoring a 9.650 while Amelia Moorehouse (So. – Gregory, MI/FlexTech) was fourth with a score of 9.450.

Anderson and Erin Olson (Sr. – Faribault, MN/Shattuck-St. Mary's) tied for sixth on the balance beam with a 9.400, setting a new season-high for Olson. On the vault, Becca Wilcox (Jr. – Roseville, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall) tied for second with a score of 9.375.

Next up for Eau Claire is another Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) matchup as the Blugolds travel to Oshkosh to take on the Titans on Friday, Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m.
