Gymnastics comes up short against Hamline

ST. PAUL, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's gymnastics team traveled to Hamline University Friday night, falling to the Pipers 183.100 to 181.800.

Results

The Blugolds dominated on the uneven parallel bars in the loss, taking the top three spots. Jessica Dhaene (Sr. – Stacy, MN/ Forest Lake Area) and Megan Fayler (Fr. – Afton, MN/Stillwater) tied for first with a score of 9.325. Hannah Lewis (So. – Saline, MI) followed with a 9.275.

Erin Olson (Sr. – Faribault, MN/Shattuck-St. Mary's) also won an event for Eau Claire, recording a score of 9.525 on the floor exercise.

Lauralynn Anderson (So. – West Bend, WI/home school) was the top Blugold finisher on the balance beam, taking third with a score of 9.425 while taking fourth in the vault with a score of 9.250. Kiya Bjorge (So. Kennewick, WA/Southridge) was the top Blugold in the vault, taking second with a score of 9.325.

Next up for Eau Claire is the Harley Invite in Milwaukee on Friday, February 10 at 7 p.m.
