Gymnastics Finishes 6th at Regionals, Stedman Advances to Nationals

ST. PAUL, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's gymnastics team placed sixth at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) West Regional hosted by Hamline University Saturday, with Julia Stedman (Jr.-Maplewood, MN) earning a spot on the vault and floor exercise in the national meet.

Stedman tied for second in the floor exercise, scoring a 9.750 and also placed seventh in the vault, recording a score of 9.550 to lead the Blugolds.

The top nine finishers in each event advance to the national round.

Bailey Peter (Fr.-Wausau, WI/D.C. Everest) just missed making the national meet, tying for 11th on the uneven parallel bars with scoring a 9.575.

Destiny Cobbs (Fr.-Minnetonka, MN) was also a top finisher for the Blugolds, tying for 14th on the balance beam with a 9.350.

Stedman will compete in the national meet, hosted by UW-La Crosse, March 27-28.
