Women's Golf finishes 2nd, Uzpen 4th overall at Twin Ports Invite

DULUTH, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's golf team turned in the best team score on Saturday's second and final round of the Twin Ports Collegiate Invite as the Blugolds finished second overall in their opening tournament.

Results

Trailing host St. Scholastica by 10 strokes on Saturday, UW-Eau Claire shaved 22 strokes off their team score to finish with a round-best 333 to bring their two-round total to 688 (+116). However, St. Scholastica's 336 was just enough to maintain their lead to win the invite with a score of 681 (+109).

Anna Uzpen (Jr. – Osecola, WI) led the Blugolds, finishing in fourth place overall after shooting an impressive 79 on Saturday. The junior finished with a two-round score of 166 (+23).

Jessica Rudnicki (Jr. – Sun Prairie) tied for sixth with a 160 after shooting an 83 in the final round while Megan Glaeser (So. – Freedom, WI/Fox Valley Lutheran) tied for ninth with a 174.

Abbie Ter Maat (Sr. – Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) also had a strong finish for Eau Claire, moving up from a tie for 15th into a tie for 12th with Megan Crawford (Fr. – Forest Lake, MN) after they finished with scores of 180.

The Blugolds will be back in action Sept. 7-8 as they host the Georgianni Invite at Mill Run Golf Course and the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club.
