Sixth Place Finish for Women’s Golf at UW-Whitewater Fall Classic

DELAVAN, Wis. - (blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's golf team sat in sixth place following the opening round of the UW-Whitewater Fall Classic Friday, and after Saturday's final round, that was where they remained.

Results

After notching a team score of 346 on Friday, the Blugolds improved by 14 strokes, posting a score of 332 on Saturday. Their overall score of 678 was good for a +94 finish. Day one's leader, Carthage College, won the tournament as a whole with a team score of 633 (+49).

Allison Chomniak (So.-Pewaukee, WI/Arrowhead) continued her strong fall season, shooting an 81 in round two, bringing her final score to a 165 (+19) and a finish tied for fifteenth.

Molly Lattery (Jr.-Poplar, WI/Northwestern) was next in the standings, shooting the team's best of 77 on the day. That was good for a +23 overall finish, tying for twenty-third on the leaderboard.

Katie Moore's (Sr.-Woodbury, MN) second straight day with a score of 85 gave her a +24 finish, which tied for twenty-seventh.

This event was the final tune-up for the women golfers before the WIAC Championships, which take place October 7-9 in Reedsburg, WI.
