Women's Golf Finishes Fifth at Wartburg Invite

WAVERLY, Iowa (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's golf team completed the Wartburg College Invitational in fifth place out of 17 teams following two rounds of competition at Centennial Oaks Golf Club.

Eau Claire took fifth with 637 strokes while Carleton College (Minn.) won the tournament with 604 strokes.

Two Blugolds finished in the top 14 with Kate Engler (Sr.-Beloit, Wis./F.J. Turner) leading the way, tying for fifth place after shooting 152. Emily Stone (Sr.-Eden Prairie, Minn.) was 14th with 156 strokes.

Winning the tournament with 146 strokes was St. Thomas' Erin Dingmann.

Next Saturday and Sunday the Blugolds will compete at the Division III Midwest Classic at the Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, Minn.
