Women's Golf Finishes Second at Wartburg Spring Invitational

WAVERLY, Iowa (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's golf team finished in second place out of six teams after two days of competition at the Wartburg College Spring Invitational at Centennial Oaks Golf Club.

Results

UW-Stout won the tournament with 639 strokes while the Blugolds totaled 661 to take second. University of St. Thomas (Minn.) finished in third place with 671 strokes.

Kate Engler (Jr.-Beloit, Wis./F.J. Turner), who was tied for second place after day one, finished with 157 strokes to take second. Brit McNett-Emmerich from UW-Stout won with 156.

Emily Stone (Jr.-Eden Prairie, Minn.), who led the field of 35 golfers after the first round, came in fourth place with 159 strokes. Mandi Salo (Jr.-Hermantown, Minn.) was the only other Blugold in the top 20, taking 17th place with 172 strokes.

Next Saturday and Sunday the Blugolds will compete at the Carleton College Invitational at Northfield Golf Club.
