Women's Basketball falls to No. 14 Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's basketball faced No. 14 UW-Oshkosh on the road Saturday night, falling to the Titans, 67-23.

The Blugold offense struggled from the start as Eau Claire found themselves down 21-5 after the first quarter and would only score six points in the second to trail 38-11 at the half.

The Blugold defense stepped up in the third quarter and held the Titans to just eight points, but the offense would never get going as Eau Claire tallied just 12 points in the half.

Kaycee Gierczak (Fr. – Green Bay, WI/Notre Dame) led the Blugolds with 10 points off the bench while Hallee Hoeppner (Jr. – Winona, MN) had a game-high seven rebounds.

With the loss, the Blugolds fall to 13-12 overall and 4-10 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), putting them in seventh place and just missing the WIAC playoffs.

Senior Maddie Dunathan (Hortonville, WI) wrapped up her Blugold career with four assists, bringing her season total to 159 -second in Blugold history - and 352 for her career, ranking her fifth all-time.
