EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's basketball team and Head Coach Tonja Englund have announced the 2016-17 schedule.

Full Schedule

UW-Eau Claire is coming off a season where the Blugolds posted the 10th ranked strength of schedule out of the 440 teams in NCAA Division III. Eau Claire had a final Bennett/Hero Sports national power ranking of No. 27 and finished tied for fourth in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).

The Blugolds will not shy away from tough opponents in 2016, as they will face eight teams that competed in the 2015-16 NCAA tournament, including Wartburg College who advanced to The Final Four.

The Blugolds will open the season on November 15 at home against St. Catherine University and open WIAC play on January 4 against UW-River Falls in Zorn Arena.

The 2016-17 campaign will be highlighted by a trip to Las Vegas with the men's basketball team as the Blugolds compete in the D3Hoops Classic.

"We have always believed in playing a schedule that prepares us for the tough competition we face in the WIAC," said Head Coach Tonja Englund. "This year includes another outstanding opportunity for us to prove we are seasoned and ready to compete for a WIAC championship and make a return to the NCAA tournament."
