UW-Eau Claire started the game strong, as they outscored Wartburg in both the first and second periods. Six different players from Eau Claire contributed points in the first half. Heading into the third quarter, the Blugolds were ahead 26-21.

Despite their strong start in the first 20 minutes of play, the Blugolds' lead slowly decreased throughout the third and fourth quarters. The game's leading scorer was Wartburg's Katie Sommer with 22 points. Eau Claire's two seniors led the team in scoring, with Teenie Lichtfuss (Sr.-Oshkosh, WI/Lourdes) and Madison Johnson (Sr.-Osceola, WI/Osceola) putting up 15 and 12 points, respectively.

The Blugolds (2-4, 0-0 WIAC) will be back in action at home on Wednesday, Dec. 9 as they take on Luther College at 5:00 p.m. in Zorn Arena.
