Lewis, Lichtfuss and Blacklock Receive All-WIAC Honors

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire’s Courtney Lewis (Sr. Prairie du Chien, Wis.), Teenie Lichtfuss (Jr. Oshkosh, Wis.) and Ellen Blacklock (So. Winona, Minn.) have been selected to the 2014-15 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Basketball All-Conference Teams in a vote by the league coaches.

Lewis and Lichtfuss were named First Team All-WIAC while Blacklock and Lichtfuss were two of only six players named to the All-Defensive Team.

Lichtfuss led the Blugolds this season in points (321), scoring average (12.3), made field goals (112), made three point field goals (37) and steals (59). The junior played in all 26 games this season, averaging 32.6 minutes per game. In the WIAC, she was first in free throw percentage (89.6) fourth in scoring (12.3) average and fourth in steals (2.27)

Lewis led the team in three point field goal percentage (47.7), free throws (69), rebounds (177) and assists (113). The senior was second on the team in points (314), scoring average (12.1), made field goals (112). In the WIAC, Lewis was fifth in scoring (12.1 percent), second in assists (4.35), third in free throw percentage (86.3) and sixth in rebounding (6.8).

Lewis finished her career 20th on the Blugold career points list with 958 career points. She is also 19th in career field goals made (365) and second in free throw percentage (81.2).

Blacklock dominated in blocked shots this season, leading the team and WIAC with 61, nearly doubling the total of UW-La Crosse’s Cameron Chapin who finished second with 33. The sophomore averaged 15.8 minutes a game, averaging 5.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 blocks.

Kristin Sahr (Sr. Stillwater, Minn.) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team, which was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season.  It included one member from each school.
