Softball to host WIAC Tournament

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – For the second-straight season, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire softball team will host the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) tournament after clinching the regular season championship on Saturday.

The Blugolds secured their 11th conference title and fourth in the past five seasons. Eau Claire will host the five-team WIAC Championship (presented by Culver's) at Gelein Field May 6-8. The winner of the event will receive the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship.

Tournament action will begin on Friday, May 6 at 10 a.m. with fourth-seeded UW-Whitewater taking on fifth-seeded UW-Stout. Second-seeded UW-Oshkosh will play third-seeded UW-La Crosse at noon. Daily admission tickets will be available at the gate beginning one hour prior to the start of the first game of the day. Dogs, cats and other pets (with the exception of licensed service animals) are prohibited on the site off all WIAC championships and postseason tournaments; regardless of whether the event is conducted on- or off-campus.
